Support is provided by a mixture of staff and volunteers. All individuals supporting victims of Domestic Abuse on behalf of Victim Support have attended specialist CAADA (Co-ordinated Action Against Domestic Abuse) training, including working with high risk victims. They are also trained in safety planning. There is usually a waiting list before being allocated a support worker, but telephone support is provided during that time from a manager to assess immediate emotional support, practical support and safety.

Where additional support is needed, with your agreement, a referral will be made to Torbay Domestic Abuse Service or another organisation that is capable of offering the relevant help. Not every case is the same and everyone’s needs are different.

Victim Support always makes people aware that they can go back to them at any time. There is no time limit on support and victims/witnesses can make contact again, even if initial support has stopped.
